Alberta Health Services Blog Policy

It is our commitment to maintain Alberta Health Services blogs as a free and open dialogue for staff. We must also ensure all shared comments meet AHS values of respect and accountability.

To ensure your comments are published, please adhere to the following conditions:

• Be Respectful: Comments should not include slanderous or personally insulting commentary directed at an individual or group. Users of this blog agree to respect their colleagues and individual Alberta Health Services employees when posting comments on this blog. Any comments that show disrespect to a particular individual, or are defamatory or highly inciting in nature, will not be be posted.

• Protect Privacy: Comments should not contain personal information (non-work related) such as home phone numbers or addresses.

• Keep it Clean: Comments containing vulgar language will not be posted.

• Keep it Relevant to AHS: Entries that are written about political issues, government policy or any commentary on organizations external to AHS will not be posted on this blog.

• Be Transparent: Identify yourself by providing your name and email address (email address will not be shared). Your name will appear next to your posting so, given there is external exposure, you may elect to use your given name or initials only.

• Be Accountable: Offer information that is correct and relevant to the blog entry you are commenting on.

• Keep it Short: Entries that are too long will not be posted. Entries must not exceed 2000 characters.

• Comments are open for 20 days: Comments are open for the first 20 days of the posting and will not be accepted after that.

AHS blogs are moderated and comments that are not related to the discussion will not be posted. As this blog is intended for AHS staff, only comments received from an AHS e-mail address (including former regions and entities) will be considered.

Please Note: Although this is a staff blog it can be read by visitors from outside of the organization. The blog is currently maintained on a publicly accessible website. Please keep that in mind when posting your comments.
